Happy Circles

Well, folks, it's been a whirlwind week here at our house. My kids have been home all week on their February school vacation week. (Yes, for some odd reason, public schoolkids here in Massachusetts get a week of vacation in February and another week off in April. Add that to a week plus off between Christmas and New Year's and a first day of school that's after Labor Day, and that puts my kids' last day of school in late June!) In addition to our day trip to Rockport midweek, we took advantage of a 50% off sale at the used book store, stocked up on scrapbook supplies, ordered photo developing on a year-and-a-half's worth of pictures, bought penny-candy at the local corner store, and watched a few movies here at home. The kids made lots of progress on their scrapbooks while I tried to tame the mess in my stamping corner.

Which brings us to another busy day here today! In between trying to get caught up on household chores, I made a card for the February Market Street Stamps Block Party.

I created the lower panel of the card by punching circles from various stampings of the MSS Sweet Lace background. The sentiment is from MSS Happy Pumpkin.

Time to go tuck in a couple of tired kiddos! I'll see you back here tomorrow for some DeNami sneak peeks!

Thanks for dropping by!
Emily

Love all the lacy circles on your pretty card! It certainly does make a Happy greeting. :)

Sounds like you and your children had a great week. Once March break is over, spring soon follows right behind. That's always good. :)

SO pretty, Emily! Love how you stamped that background in several different colors on punched out circles- really showcases the stamp and makes it shine! Thanks for playing along with us this month!

I think our kids' school schedules are close to syncing - ours start the Tuesday after Labour Day, then two weeks at Christmas, one in March, and we end with report cards the last Thurs/Fri of June. Plus, don't forget all the Professional Development Days and storm days in between :) Our March break is going to be pretty packed this year from the sounds of what everyone wants to do.
I love the open-ended sentiment of just "Happy" - and what a great way to use that background. You know I don't use bg stamps much, and this would be a brilliant way to *make* me do it :)

What a great idea to stamp that lace background multiple times in different colors, punch and arrange! It looks really cheerful.

You had a busy week with the kids home, huh? Bet you're glad things are back to normal! LOL

What a great idea to punch different sized circles from stamped or decorative paper! Now why couldn't I have thought of that? I love these circles against the black and will (hopefully) file this in the brain for future reference.
