Happy Mother's Day! I made a card earlier this week to mail to my mom--and had to wait until today to post it here to avoid an accidental sneak peek by Mom! Here's what she received:
I'm playing along with the the latest Power Poppy Power & Spark challenge, which is to "cut it out" (fussy cutting your main image), my second entry in this month's challenge. I'm having a ball with my new Power Poppy stamp sets! The floral image and "for you" sentiment are from Power Poppy's Potted Primroses stamp set. That lovely script "Mom" comes from DeNami Design. I love stitching on my cards, so I added a stitched border around a panel of some ancient Basic Grey patterned paper. And loopy baker's twine bows just make me happy, so that explains that ;).
I hope that all the moms out there enjoy their special "queen for a day" day! And if you can, be sure to send your own mom some extra love today.
Until next time,
Emily

Tulips
Hello! I'm not really sure when I last posted here on my blog. I know it's been forever! I've been busy, busy, busy with my family and work. Although I've been doing plenty of papercrafty stuff these past few months, I just haven't had the energy to do all those things that go with blogging about my projects. I spent some time yesterday thinking about and digging up inspiration for a few special projects I had on my to-do list for this week, and in doing so, I cruised by the Power Poppy website and blog. I recently treated myself to a few Power Poppy stamp sets and was eager to get them inky! I noticed a post about the latest Power Poppy Power & Spark challenge, which is to "cut it out" (fussy cutting your main image), and I realized that playing in a challenge (which I haven't done in AGES!) was probably just the nudge I needed to finally post something new here on My Little Slice of Bliss. So, here I am with an entry for Power & Spark!
I used the gorgeous tulip image, as well as a sentiment, from Power Poppy's Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips set and colored with my Copics. The notebook paper die and coordinating notebook paper lines stamp are from My Favorite Things. And that pretty patterned paper? From an ancient Jillibean Soup 6x6 pad. I'm working hard to use up my stash!
I had fun getting creative today. Thanks for taking a peek!

My Embossed Elements Winner for June
Hello and Happy Thursday! I'm announcing my Embossed Elements giveaway winner today. The brand-new Cloudy Sky Embossing Folder goes to lucky #23, which is Nikki C.! Congratulations, Nikki! Please email me (you'll find my email address on my "Complete Profile" page--see the right-hand sidebar under my picture) with your snail mail mailing address so I can get this embossing folder sent out to you ;).
My newest embossing folder from the DeNami Design store is the Butterflies in Corner embossing folder. My 15YO daughter ooooo-ed and aaaaaah-ed over this one, so I just had to use it to make her a card. It's a birthday card; well, actually it is her half-birthday card. My sweet thing was born on Christmas Eve. The first few years we celebrated her big day on the actual day, but it was so hard to make it special with Christmas just right around the corner. So starting around her sixth birthday, we asked her if she'd like to celebrate with cake and presents on her half-birthday, so she could spread out the celebrating more. And we've been doing it ever since! So this is the card she'll get from us when we celebrate her half birthday this weekend. My kids' last day of school was Tuesday--June 24!! So celebrating her half birthday is a great way to kick off the summer :) Here's how her half-birthday card turned out:
I used a sweet stamp from the Fancy Flutters set, a sentiment from the Thoughtful Greetings set, a Crystal Lacquer Pearl Pen, and some pink baker's twine.
I think my daughter will love how it turned out!!
Thanks so much for dropping by for a visit today!

Embossed Elements: Cloudy Sky + a GIVEAWAY
Hi, everybody! I'm coming to you today with the June edition of my monthly Embossed Elements feature for the DeNami blog. Today I'm featuring a truly versatile item: the Cloudy Sky Embossing Folder from the DeNami store. There are just so many different ways to use this awesome design!
My first card is a sweet all-purpose card. It uses just one DeNami stamp (Noah's Ark), and two embossing folders: Cloudy Sky and Beach Waves. I think this would be so cute as a baby card, a baby's first birthday card, or even a thank you note for a Sunday School teacher!
My second card is perfect for the 4th of July! I again used the Cloudy Sky embossing folder as a backdrop, this time for an outdoor celebratory scene featuring Chickie in Balloon, Chickie w/ Sparkler, and Patriotic Chickie. The sentiment comes from the Everyday Greetings stamp set.
I hope this gives you some ideas you can use with the Cloudy Sky embossing folder! Thanks for taking a peek at my embossed projects today. Be sure to check out my giveaway!
How would you like the chance to win this Cloudy Sky Embossing Folder? I have one up for grabs in an Embossed Elements giveaway! Want to be in the running? Just leave me a comment on this post using the word "CLOUDS." There's no need to be a follower of my blog to enter, but if you are a follower (or become a new follower!), you can have a second entry in the drawing--just leave me a second comment telling me that you are a follower and how you follow. :)
I'll leave commenting open until 11:59 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, and will draw one commenter at random. The winner will be announced right here on my blog on Thursday, June 26, and if I'm able to find an email address, I'll be sure to contact the winner as well.
Thanks for joining me today!

Be sure to head over to the DeNami Design blog today to see how the rest of the team was inspired by Jennifer's lovely creation!

DeNami Design Sky's the Limit Blog Hop
Hello and welcome to the May DeNami Design Blog Hop! The theme of this month's hop is The Sky's the Limit!!
Hopefully, you've arrived here by way of Greta Hess's blog, GG Creations. If so, you are on the right track! If not, you'll want to head over to the DeNami blog to start the blog hop at the beginning. (And remember, if you get lost along the way, you can always head over to the DeNami blog to get pointed in the right direction.)
Don't forget, there are some super-fun DeNami prizes to be won! Two lucky commenters will be drawn at random from among the comments left along the blog hop to win a $20 DeNami Design gift certificate! You have until Monday, May 19, 2014, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs to be eligible for a prize.
Here's how I interpreted this month's theme:
I went with a high-flying patriotic kite that's perfect for Memorial Day or the 4th of July! A few other sky-themed DeNami products, the Small Cloud stamp and Cloudy Sky embossing folder, were perfect for rounding out my Sky's the Limit design. I also used the God Bless America stamp and two patterns of washi tape from the DeNami store: Blue/White Dots and Red Stripes.
Well, that does it for my creation! It's time for me to send you along on your way. But before you leave for more DeNami inspiration, be sure to leave a comment to be eligible for the randomly drawn prizes. Then you can head out to see the next blog hop participant on today's list: Stacy M.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the blog hop,
Emily

DeNami Design Product Spotlight April Blog Hop
It's the fourth Wednesday of the month and that means it is time to show off another awesome DeNami Design stamp with a blog hop! This month we are featuring the lovely Wavy Stem Trio stamp. What a versatile stamp!
I decided to use this stamp to start making Mother's Day cards. Here's what I created:
I combined the Wavy Stem Trio with a flower head from the cling Spring Flowers Set (stamped on white cardstock, colored with Copics, fussy cut, and mounted with foam tape on the ends of the stems) and planted in a flower pot from the cling Garden Accessories Set (treated in the same way as the flowers). To finish out this design, I added a stamped Happy Mother's Day sentiment and two strips of washi tape from the DeNami store: Pink/White Hearts and Orange Stripes. I'm so happy with how this card turned out! What is it about pink and bright orange that look so pretty together??
You can purchase this versatile stamp for 10% off the regular price for the next week. You also have the chance to WIN this fabulous product in today's spotlight blog hop! All you need to do is hop along to each stop in the lineup, leaving comments along the way. Here is the blog hop lineup:

DeNami Design Buttons and Bows Blog Hop
Hello and welcome to the April DeNami Design Blog Hop! This month's hop is all about Buttons and Bows!!
Hopefully, you've arrived here by way of Linda Monroe's blog, Stampin in the Suburbs. If so, you are on the right track! If not, you'll want to head over to the DeNami blog to start the blog hop at the beginning. All righty, let's get right down to business. Here's my Easter-themed Buttons and Bows creation:
I used the beautiful new Lily stamp--doesn't it do wonderfully as an Easter lily? It was quick and easy to color with Copic markers. I also used some White Boutique Buttons and lavender baker's twine in the Pastel Twine 3-pack, all from the DeNami Design store.
It's time for me to send you along on your way. But before you leave for more DeNami buttons and bows inspiration, be sure to leave a comment to be eligible for the randomly drawn prizes. Then you can head out to see the next blog hop participant on today's list: Jennifer Loftfield.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the blog hop,

Some one-layer cards
Howdy, friends! I'm popping in to share a couple of one-layer thank you cards that I created last week. I love having cards like this in my stash for easy mailing!
I made both of these with some beautiful stamp sets from Flourishes (although, sadly, no longer available) and washi tape from DeNami Design. I had a lovely time coloring these with my Copics!
I have some very special houseguests this week--my parents are here to visit! We're going to have a busy week, so things may be a little quiet here on the blog.
Thanks for dropping by to see what I've been up to! Have a great week!

My Embossed Elements Winner!
Happy day to all of you! And welcome to another wonderful Thursday. I'm announcing my Embossed Elements giveaway winner today. The brand-new Basket Weave embossing folder goes to lucky #10, which is Roey!! Congratulations, Roey! I couldn't find any way to contact you directly, so please email me (you can find my email address on my Profile page) with your mailing address so I can get your new embossing folder sent out to you right away. :)
I wish I could give all of my fabulous readers one of these lovely embossing folders. You are all so sweet! But that's just not possible, so I'm hoping a little eye candy will help soothe any disappointment ;) . I want to share another card that features the beautiful Basket Weave embossing folder, something perfect for spring:
I can't wait to see all the daffodils and tulips blooming this year! How about you? I am craving color in our dull and (still) frozen landscape. So I figured making a card featuring tulips and daffodils that I could color myself would be just what the doctor ordered. Here are the fantastic products from the DeNami Design store that I used for this card:
I love how this card turned out!
Thanks so much for dropping by for a little slice of bliss with me today!

DeNami Design Product Spotlight March Blog Hop
DON"T FORGET!!
My giveaway for a
Basket Weave Embossing Folder from the DeNami Design store
ends tonight.
Be sure to check out the details HERE to enter!!
****
It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it is time to show off another awesome DeNami Design stamp with a blog hop! This month we are featuring the brand-new and absolutely beautiful Cross and Vines stamp. What a gorgeous addition to the DeNami Design rubber stamp collection!
I ended up making three different cards with this lovely stamp for today's blog hop. Let's take a look at them in order from least to most elaborate. Here's my first creation:
I stamped the cross in black ink on kraft cardstock and left it uncolored. After a little fussy cutting it was ready to shine against the watercolored background I created with my Faber-Castell Gelatos. So easy!! I only needed one other DeNami stamp for this creation, the beautifully scripted Rejoice. Finally, I added some free-form machine stitching for a border, and it was done.
Here's my second creation:
For this one, I added DeNami's He Is Risen stamp to my design, as well as the Flowers and Vines Embossing Folder. Doesn't it tie in perfectly with the Cross and Vines stamp? To help the embossed pattern stand out a little more, I inked the debossed side of the embossing folder (as opposed to the raised side of the folder) with Fresh Green Versacolor ink, which perfectly accented the Celery Cardstock that I used.
And finally, here is the most elaborate card that I made with today's Product Spotlight stamp:
Lots more layers on this one, right? I used the same embossing folder inking technique, and again I'm quite pleased with the results. I dressed up my design by drawing on some pearls with a green Crystal Lacquer Pearl Pen.
You can purchase this beautiful stamp for 10% off the regular price for the next week. You also have the chance to WIN this fabulous product in today's spotlight blog hop! All you need to do is hop along to each stop in the lineup, leaving comments along the way. Here is the blog hop lineup:

Embossed Elements: BASKET WEAVE + a Giveaway!
Happy Monday to you, DeNami fans! I'm here today with the March edition of my monthly Embossed Elements feature for the DeNami Design blog. Today I'm sharing with you two different projects featuring the oh-so-appropriate-for-Easter Basket Weave Embossing Folder from the DeNami store. Shall we take a peek at a few fun ways to use it?
First, I couldn't wait to try adding some realistic basket-weave texture to DeNami's Large Spring Basket stamp!
For this project, I stamped the basket on Iridescent Aquamarine cardstock in Jet Black Staz-On ink. After trimming out the basket, I embossed it with the Basket Weave embossing folder. When I glued down the basket to my card, I was careful to leave the scalloped top edge of the basket free of glue so I could easily slip in some brightly colored Easter eggs (trimmed from the Solid Egg Border stamped in Pearlescent Orchid Brilliance ink, Pearlescent Purple Brilliance ink, and Pearlescent Sky Blue Brilliance ink) and a {yummy!} little chocolate bunny (a trimmed-out, white-embossed version of the bunny from the Cuddly Pals stamp set). I rounded out this card with the beautifully scripted Small Happy Easter sentiment.
For my second project, I used the Basket Weave Embossing Folder as my background.
In this project, I used the debossed side of my cheery yellow panel. Don't you just love how richly detailed the weave pattern is? I know I do! With that basket-weave pattern and the Easter-Peeps-bright pinks, yellows, and purples, it's obvious that this card celebrates Easter! Here are the DeNami stamps that I used for this creation: Whimsical Garden Set, Summer Flowers Set, and Easter Blessings. I also used some gorgeous lavender cardstock and added those sweetly bright pearl accents with Crystal Lacquer pearl pens (I used this set and this set).
Once I got thinking about ways to use this lovely Basket Weave Embossing Folder, I just couldn't turn off the ideas! Wouldn't Easter Chickie or Chickie Easter Basket look marvelous with this embossing folder? Or how about "Hoppy" Easter Chickies? And just to show that basket weave isn't just for Easter, why not try pairing it with the gorgeous Apple Basket for autumn or hot-air Chickie in Balloon for summer? I think there are just so many possibilities :D.
Well, I hope that I've given you some useful ideas for embossing with this installment of Embossed Elements!
How would you like the chance to win this gorgeous Basket Weave Embossing Folder? I have one up for grabs in an Embossed Elements giveaway! Want to be in the running? Just leave me a comment on this post using the word "SPRING." There's no need to be a follower of my blog to enter, but if you are a follower (or become a new follower!), you can have a second entry in the drawing--just leave me a second comment telling me that you are a follower and how you follow. :)
I'll leave commenting open until 11:59 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, and will draw one commenter at random. The winner will be announced right here on my blog on Thursday, March 27, and if I'm able to find an email address, I'll be sure to contact the winner as well.
Thanks for joining me today!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Top o' the mornin' to you, my friends! It's St. Patrick's Day! Today I'm sharing a St. Patrick's Day card that I made for a dear friend who also celebrates her birthday today. I had so much fun making a new-to-me Z-fold card last month that I just had to try another, and I thought it would be perfect for the elegant birthday/St.Patrick's Day card I had planned for my friend. Z-fold cards just seem so cool to me, but their one drawback is they are rather difficult to photograph, so I had to capture it with a series of shots. Anyway, here's how it turned out:
All of the stamps are from various Flourishes sets (including Irish Blessing, Hollyhocks, and Tag Lines). I used some Spellbinders (Beaded Ovals and Ovals) to die-cut the focal label, the St. Patrick's Day embossing folder from DeNami Design to emboss the background panels, and a green Crystal Lacquer Pearl Pen from DeNami to embellish the beaded oval frame. And that lovely green Prima flower has been hoarded in my stash forever--I'm so glad I finally had the perfect project to let it shine!
I love how the design for this Z-fold card leaves a little hidden panel inside for a message for the recipient!
Well, I hope the birthday girl is having a great day today, and that all of your are having a fabulous St. Patty's Day! Make sure to put on a little bit o' green to keep the pinches at bay today {wink!}.
Thanks for visiting!

DeNami Design Fuzzy Friends Blog Hop
Welcome to the March DeNami Design Blog Hop! This month's hop is all about Fuzzy Friends!!
Hopefully, you've arrived here by way of Linda Monroe's blog, Stampin in the Suburbs. If so, you are on the right track! If not, you'll want to head over to the DeNami blog to start the blog hop at the beginning.
You have until Monday, March 10, 2014, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs to be eligible for a prize.
DeNami Design has SO many cute stamps that would qualify for the "Fuzzy Friends" description! Have you seen all the awesome new stamps in DeNami's new Woodland category? If not, you should definitely take a peek--so adorable!
I just had to use the new Little Hedgehog stamp for my creation for today's hop! Here's what I made:
I combined him with four other DeNami stamps--stump from Woodland Logs set, Balloon Trio stamp, party hat from Birthday Celebration 1 set, and Happy Birthday Script stamp--along with the utterly fantastic Wood Grain embossing folder and orange baker's twine from the DeNami store.
It's time for me to send you along on your way. But before you leave for more DeNami fuzzy friends inspiration, be sure to leave a comment to be eligible for the randomly drawn prizes. Then you can head out to see the next blog hop participant on today's list: Tenia Nelson.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the blog hop,
Emily

My Embossed Elements winner!
Top o' the mornin' to you! I'm so happy to announce the winner of my St. Patrick embossing folder giveaway from Monday, so we'll get to that straightaway--then I'll give a little eye candy as a consolation prize ;) .
Here we go: Random.org chose #22 as our lucky number, and that commenter was Amy C.! Congratulations, Amy! I'll be emailing you shortly to get your information.
And now, a little extra embossing inspiration with that fabulous St. Patrick embossing folder that Amy C. has won. I was so impressed recently with a beautiful card that the lovely Greta Hess made that used some partial embossing. I just had to try it out! And this is what I ended up with:
I love how it looks just like someone has just tossed out a hand full of shamrocks that scattered part way across the card. Thanks for the inspiration, Greta!
And isn't that scene full of leprechaun chickies adorable? It was a blast to color with my Copic markers :). Here's a full list of the DeNami Design products that I used to create this card:
Well, thanks for joining me on yet another chilly morning (such that it is here in New England). Fingers crossed that spring arrives soon! We need to melt some of this frozen-solid snow of ours!!
Have a day filled with bliss!
