Autumn Thinking of You

OK, I've counted my Thanksgiving cards, and I think this one is the last one I need to make my quota! Huzzah!!

Still trying to keep things flat here for the sake of mailability. {Now that the creating task is done, next on my list will be signing, stuffing, and addressing for mailing.}

I'm linking up with the Stampendous November Challenge, which is to use any of the Stampendous Essentials products in your project. I heat-embossed leaves from the Stampendous Summer Leaves clear stamp set with Stampendous Aged Copper Embossing Enamel. (And the "thinking of you" sentiment is from DeNami Design.)

I'm also playing along with Do You Stack Up? (use a Leaves/Trees theme) and Simon Says Stamp Challenge (Thinking of You/Sympathy).

So, we had a great weekend and managed to show those leaves in our yard who's boss. The kids were a huge help (and they're pretty happy to have had the chance to earn some cash to use toward Christmas shopping). On Saturday we all worked together and made quite a lot of headway before having to take a break midday to go for a family portrait photography sitting. Last week I was working hard at my computer to meet a work deadline and managed to overwork my wrists with repetitive mouse tasks, making the ol' carpal tunnels flare up. So I started the day on Saturday feeling rather tender. Boy, you just don't realize how much you use your wrists for everyday tasks until they hurt!! I found out the hard way just how much wrist-twisting is involved in leaf raking. Who knew?? So after our portrait session, I was just limping along wrist-wise. To save me from further injury, the rest of the family pitched in to finish up the yard work without me on Sunday. Troopers!! It looks great out there. I just love the look of a freshly raked lawn--it looks like it's just had its hair brushed out and styled, you know? Nicely coiffed and polished :).

Thanks for stopping by!
Emily

Can someone say EL-E-GANCE!!! Love the triple layer of scallops Emily, beautiful card.

Oh I hear you on the carpal tunnel. I had surgery on both wrists in the early 90's. They still give me problems when overworked. Blog hop commenting can be a killer!!

Pretty embossing and stitching Emily! A fresh 'combed' lawn does look nice! Glad your kids were a big help, and hope your wrists don't bother you too much!!

Loving those scallops and the leaf image is fabulous. Great card! Way to show those leaves who is boss too LOL! I've done five bags around here and sure there are at least four more to go. Glad your kids chipped in so well - love it when they are older and can help out :) rest those wrists!

What a beautiful card! I love those embossed leaves. Thanks for letting me know that I won over at Unity FWF. I had been trying to check the blog, but I missed it.

DO NOT TELL MY KIDS that you paid your kids ;) I have mine convinced (so far) that leaf raking falls under the normal chore list.
I love the word HUZZAH. It just has a way more cheerful sound than hooray :)
Love the embossing on the leaves, and the scalloped effect at the bottom (way to disappear some paper!). Boo, hiss on the CT flare-up. No more raking for you!

Love those leaves and how you used them. Pretty, colorful scallops and it all makes a beautiful Thanksgiving card.

So sorry about your wrist. I found how just how important wrists are and how much they control when I broke mine some years ago.It was a terrible experience wearing an external fixator. Ouch...and more!!

Beautiful card, Emily. I love the copper embossing on the leaves!

Thank you for your sweet wishes. I'm home and doing better. Yesterday I was Rubber Woman, but today I might actually venture out to the Playhouse. It's such good therapy.

I'm sorry to hear your car pool tunnel is acting up on you and no, raking would not be the thing to do for that!! You take a teasy! Do we get to see the family portrait?

Hugs to you,
Darnell

Yep, as I said on the phone, this is just so lovely. Pure autumnal elegance. Love the leaves stamped in the upper corner, and those scalloped edges.

You are a wonderful Mom. No wonder your kids stepped up and took over on the leaf raking job. Great job to them for helping out and to their parents for showing them how. :) Hope your wrists are better. Computers are great but they can certainly stress out our bodies.

Love your card. What a beautiful design. I may have to steal that idea in the future for paper play (strictly for my own use, I promise). I had so many ideas bouncing around in my head after seeing it!
Thank you and take care!!!
