Flourishes Release Week Challenges
It's time for a new stamp release at Flourishes! I'm playing along with all of the Release Week Challenges. Woo hoo! So much fun. :)
First up is my entry for the New Year Challenge, FLLCJANRW2, to make a card that showcases an image of time or one that showcases little baby new year i.e. a baby card. I went with the time theme:
I don't have any time images from Flourishes (sorry!), so I had to turn to my Unity stamps for the clock face, but the medallion is from Flourishes' Medallion Motif and the sentiment is from Flourishes' Life Lines. I think this will do quite nicely as a masculine card!
Next is my entry for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #151, which is to be inspired by this photo:
Isn't that fun? I was inspired by the colors, most definitely, but also the shape of the topiary ball up top :). Here's what I came up with:
Medallion Motif to the rescue again! This time I used it along with the embossed resist technique: I stamped the medallion in clear Versamark ink on white cardstock and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged on red and pumpkin pie inks to make the design really stand out! The sentiment is from Flourishes' Tag Lines.
Up third is my creation for the Year of the Dragon Challenge, FLLCJANRW1 , which is to create a card using the colors featured in this photo:
I added another birthday card to my stash with this card:
The tulips come from Flourishes' From the Garden set, and I used Tag Lines again for the sentiment. I watercolor painted the tulips and added some machine stitching along the edges of two panels for interest.
Finally, I'm sharing my card for the 2-0-1-2 Challenge, FLLCJAN12, which is a limited supply challenge that revolves around 2012! The recipe is: you can only use 2 colors; you can use 0 bling; you must use at least 1 embellishment; and you can only have 2 layers (not including your card base). After putting on my thinking cap, I came up with this:
Two colors? Goldenrod and brown. Bling? None in sight. At least one embellishment? Some corduroy ribbon and a clearance rack paper flower. Two layers? Check! I used the Sunflowers stamp set from Flourishes for my main focal image, my stamped background, and my sentiment.
We started the day with some wet snow that has now turned to rain. Except for a freak snowstorm back in October, this is really the first snow we've had this winter and my kids were very excited. My son and I donned our snow boots for the walk to school, and I received a rather rude awakening: my 10-year-old snow boots have finally given up the ghost!! Both have sprung leaks, and by the time I returned home, my socks were soaking wet. I'll bet you can guess how I'll be spending my afternoon--scouring the Lands End and LL Bean websites for new boots, if there are any left. Why is it that by the time you realize you need to replace vital winter gear, the replacements are no longer available in the stores???
Thanks for visiting today!

WOW Emily! Your cards are GORGEOUS! The Medallion Motif looks like a burst of sunshine and the Tulips are oh so sweet! Thanks for joining along with FTTC :)
All lovely cards Emily! The medallion stamp is gorgeous! And I hope you find some new boots! I think all the summer goods are in stock now! lol
That medallion is gorgeous and I love how different it looks in these two cards. And what Unity set is the clock face from?
Emily these are all wonderful! I especially like the medallion and showing all the ways to use is it wonderful. Beautiful cards. Thanks for playing in Flourishes Challenges.
Go, Em, go! Look at all these Flourishes challenge cards! Whoo hoo! I loooove how you sponged color on the second card's medallion; the way you created a masculine card with that same medallion on the first, and the pretty tulips on the third.
Good luck finding those boots! Bet you're online looking right now. :) Great talking to you this morning....you always brighten my week!
You have used the medallion wonderfully on both cards and I love tulips so you are three for three :) Good luck with the boot hunt!
Emily your cards look amazing!
Hugs and smiles
WOW, Em! You have been busy making some beautiful cards! I just love the pink and orange card that you embossed. STUNNING! :)
Wow, you did a fabulous job with ALL of these! I LOVE how you improvised for the "time" challenge, and the second piece for the Timeless Tuesday challenge is a perfect interpretation of the inspiration photo. And I love the sweet tulips on the third card! Thanks so much for joining in on all these Flourishes challenges! You're such a great supporter! :)
I love the very different looks you have done with the medalion! I'm going to have to try the emboss resist with mine. Yours is awesome! Good luck with the boots.
All three lovely cards! I love how you've used the time piece in the center of the medallion! Really great idea Emily.
The emboss resist is gorgeous. I love using that technique with this set, and the spring tulips are adorable. A great Flourishes post! Thanks so much for playing in the challenges!
FABULOUS trio of cards Emily! #2 is my favorite;love the colors and stitching on it. Hope you found some boots. I've been there before with boots or gloves. Good grief they probably have shorts in the stores by now LOL!
You are creating such awesome cards and so many! I love the way you changed the colours on the first two and made the same stamp look sooo different! And your tulip card is so sweet and springish. Snow hitting us here in NB too tonight but supposed to be yucky freezing rain by tomorrow morning. Probably a snow/ice day for the kids. Hope you have good luck finding some boots. There should be some out there somewhere to keep your feet warm! :)
Oh my! These are amazing Emily! You do awesome stamped work! And great color choices too! :)
Really gorgeous cards...wow!
These are all outstanding and breathtaking! Way to work those challenges!
Wonderful cards! I've got to get my medallion out again--you've inspired me!
These are stunning Emily! I especially love the one with the emboss resist technique, such striking colors! Hope all is well.

You really had some mojo pumping getting all these beautiful cards made. Each one is special in its own way.
Good luck on finding boots...don't want your little toes freezing.
Well, you have certainly been a busy girl! Your cards are all beautiful, but the gold and pink birthday card really stole my heart! Fab stitching and gorgeous sponging on the stamped image. Wow! And, wow, again!!! Thanks for joining us for the Timeless Tuesday challenge!
Gorgeous cards! I think the floral BD one is my favourite!!!
Holy Smokes look at all these fabuous creations...Wow. I really love that medallion you used. The first with the clock looks like a retro 50's wall hanging like my Mom had. The Birthday one gives it a complete different looks and a total WOW factor. Your little trio of flowers birthday card is darling- and of course, I love the sunflower. Give me sunflowers on a card everyday of the week. Your work looks fabulous.
Wow! Wow! Wow! 8-) I saw your Gorgeous colorful Medallion card on Flourishes Blog and just had to take a closer peek, and then when I did , got an extra treat to see all your other Fabulous cards in your Post! They are all just Wonderful! Thanks for the inspiration! 8-)

What IS that about boots, anyhow? Ugh. I hope you found some that didn't cost an arm and a leg. We had the kids' boots last year from Land's End, and those were the best boots ever.
What a whole lot of fabulous cards! I had to keep looking back & forth to check if it was the same medallion - amazing how you can change the look so dramatically! And the 2012 challenge...that's a hard one! Love what you came up with :)
These cards are all really beautiful. I just love sunflowers
Bless your heart...isn't that the way it is? We would seem to move into a new area smack in the middle of a season (ex. winter and they are selling bikinis!). sigh. Hope you get those boots.
You have such gorgeous creations, Emily. Each one is right on target-perfect! I love the different looks of the medallion. ;)
