What's Shakin' for FWF

Hello and Happy Friday!

I am super excited today to be posting a pair of projects for Unity's Friends With Flair blog hop. (Check the Unity Stamp Co. website HERE for a full list of this week's participants.)  I loooooooooove me some Unity and always enjoy linking up with FWF. But not only has life been a whirlwind recently, I've started working on a new freelance project, so my stamping time has been at a premium, to say the least. Almost all of what little time I've had has been devoted to design team assignments. That may explain why my last FWF post was March 30, nearly--eek!--two months ago!!

I'm here to remedy that today, though. But I'll forewarn you: I'm a bit rusty, so don't expect anything earth-shattering! I'll start with a clean and simple and definitely mailable card I sent recently to a dear friend, just to say hi:

Featuring the Unity Itty Bitty stamp, What's Shakin'

And another CAS creation, just in time for graduation season:

This quote is all about following your heart. What better image to use than this heart-bedecked tree from Unity's Lovely Bits & Baubles kit?

For this card, I decided to go in a direction completely different from the standard mortarboards and diplomas. I typeset this inspiring quote from Apple co-founder Steve Jobs (part of the address he delivered to grads at Stanford University's commencement exercises in 2005) with enough room to stamp a tree that ties in perfectly with the quote. The number tiles turn this into a keepsake!

Time to get to work for the day! But I'm looking forward to the long weekend {grin}. We'll be hanging out here at home. It's time to tackle some major repairs on our little pop-up camper! Memorial Day weekend means that summer is just around the corner, and we can't wait to get on the road again. :D

If you are in the U.S., be sure to tell me what your plans are for the holiday weekend! Be safe!

Thanks for dropping by,
Emily

Emily, I love those shakers. They're just the cutest things ever. The grad card is super and I love it has the date.

If you just read the punchiez note I left, you'll know about my weekend. Ugh! I don't think it'll be the greatest. Hope you have an outstanding holiday weekend.

A pair of great cards Emily! I love the way you rounded the opposite corners on the shaker one. The graduation one is very inspiring. I have to get started on a few of those!
Sounds like you are gearing up for another busy summer. Will you be heading out for another little excursion like last summer? :D

Enjoy your long weekend! :)

I am in love with that first card! The CAS design is perfect. The stamp/sentiment are front and center. And the grad card...I love that it's not a typical grad card...sweet image and a beautiful sentiment. You're not rusty at all!

So good to see you back with a FWF card! Those salt and pepper shakers -- TOO cute. I like the little hearts on them, and the way you dressed up some corners with a corner rounder.

The graduation card is beautifully punched around the edges - GREAT job on that! THat's a tricky thing sometimes. I like those tile numbers below the twine, too.

This weekend, we've got some more gardening to do, putting up the pool, visiting some cousins a couple of hours from us, too. Lots to do! Good luck with the camper stuff, Emily. Can't wait to chat sometime next week!

I'll just be relaxing this weekend once the laundry is done. Will probably get some crafting done while the hubby is out golfing. ;o)

I just bought the 'shaker' stamps last week! LOVE your CAS card with them :) And oh my, is that graduation card EVER a keepsake! I love using inspirational quotes for graduation cards - they are an occasion for congratulations, but they are also a scary and uncertain time for the grad.

Thanks for sharing your cards! Has it really been that long since you joined in a FWF!!??
We aren't doing anything super special, a bonfire tonight, painting the youth room at our church tomorrow. But it will all be fun! Have fun working on your camper!

We have a crowd at our house for the holiday weekend. I'm home alone for a little bit right now while our toddler sleeps... :)
