A Shaped Card Flashback

Just a quick post to share my entry for this month's Flashback Friday Challenge 13.0: your first non-traditional shaped card.

I haven't made very many cards with non-traditional shapes, mainly because I don't have dies to help with that kind of thing. But last year my good friend Colleen sent me a packet of Stampin' Up! paper scraps that her SU demo sells for $1, and included with those things was a beautifully die cut scalloped circle card which I turned into this:

This card is coming to you from August 15, 2010.

I hope that you are having a great weekend! We aren't doing much of anything exciting this weekend, just getting caught up with laundry and yard work and such.

See you soon!
Emily

Shaped cards are HARD. I even have Nesties, but I still find them too much of a challenge to do them often. I really like how you dolled this up - that button is too fantastic. Have fun with the laundry...I just put in the first of 4 loads for today. Didn't I just do 5 on Friday? Sigh.

I am so glad you revived this pretty card! It's certainly worthy of a second look. Love the pretty button center and the swiss dot ribbon. Just lovely!
Thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog too! I am not feeling quite as bad today but I hope I have learned from my mistakes! :D {Hugs} Thank-you for being such a great blog-friend!

Wow, Emily, I always love that your 'one-year-ago' cards seem to stand the test of time. I couldn't say that about my own cards! LOL This is a beauty!

Well, there you go! It works beautifully for the challenge, and so cute too! Sounds like we had similar weekends. Feels good to stay home and get a few things done sometimes.

What a pretty, shaped card and good for Colleen to send it to you. I'm green with envy over all her $1 SU paper scraps. ha

I see Benzi is green with envy over my $1 scrap bags. ;) I know, they are pretty fab! I am the proud owner of this beautiful card, and I agree with Emily Leiphart - your cards really stand the test of time. :) Oh, and thanks for the shout-out!
