After our lunch out, there was a pile of birthday presents waiting here at home for the birthday boy. He has been waiting very patiently since his actual birthday on Thursday for the presents part of his celebration!! And he was just thrilled with everything he received from us and his extended family. He and his sister are having a ball right now playing with some of his new stuff. He will have thank you notes to write tomorrow, so I had fun making this one to add to his stack: He will just love that there is a car on it! I was inspired by this adorable Santa car ornament that I found on the Bronner's Christmas Wonderland website as part of today's Inspiration Challenge IC261 on Splitcoast Stampers.
I incorporated these challenges into this thank you note:
- Simon Says Stamp Challenge: sketch (I had to rotate this 90 degrees clockwise and then reflect it in the y-axis to make it work with my image, so the little car would be driving into the page, not heading right off the edge!)
- Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Week Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World
- Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge: red and green
- Challenge Up Your Life: Advent/Christmas creations
- Stamp Something: Christmas color combo
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Mark's Finest Papers Thankful Mums and Pumpkins (sentiments), Studio G
Paper: SU old olive CS, Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas Delight DP collection, various scraps
Ink: Palette noir black, SU old olive, SU bashful blue
Accessories: MS nordic snowflake punch, SU modern label punch, sponge, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, paper blending stump, foam tape, red brads, SU blender pen
Techniques: sponging, Gamsol Magic

Too cute, Emily. We've seen about 5 cars with Christmas trees on them today. Love the snowflakes you added.
this is the sweetest....and reminds each of our own treasured memories of picking out and bringing home the tree......some fabulous....some a little tense.....lol!!!
This is so cute Emily. Thank you for joining us at Speedy's Friends.
This is a wonderful holiday card, Emily. It always makes me smile when I see someone driving home with a tree on the roof. I know that they are in for a special afternoon filled with holiday memories and fun.
Thanks for sharing and for joining Speedy's Friends this week!

Perfect Thank You card for the season!
Very nice!!
Could I tell you, Emily, I used to go to the original Fudds in San Antonio where the only seating was in a small 'tent' enclosure. It was the burger, awesome potatoes that you dipped in queso with jalapenos. Nothing more, no dogs! I see they have been bought out by another good food chain. oh, the memories!
Your birthday boy shows remarkable restraint to be 8 and wait! I really like the car card...perfect for the IC and a guy thank you!
Have a blessed week
This is fun! Great job with all the challenges lately. I am trying to catch up on blogs today as you can see. :0)

This is sooooo cute, I love it - thank you so much for joining us at Stamp Something this week :) x
Great card and sounds as if fun was had by all. Too bad about the light lemonade for you. LOL I love to see people hauling Christmas trees on top of their cars...really puts you in the Christmas spirit.
That is so cute! With the papers, colors and image you've chosen, it all reminds me of the 1970s somehow, or maybe the 50s. I'm not sure, but I'm picturing plaid wool blankets on people's laps in the car, as they sing Christmas songs and head out to pick up a tree.
Hey Emily! Thanks for entering the Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Week Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! :)
